Operating Principle
EDCS-220/10H and EDCS-110/20H electric power systems (power system for short) are wall mounted systems, which is configured with power control unit (PCU), rectifiers, voltage regulator, and can be configured with external insulation relay and battery detector as options. The output voltage of EDCS-220/10H is 220V, and the output voltage of EDCS-110/20H is 110V. The following introduction is based on EDCS-220/10H. Except that EDCS-110/20H has half input voltage and double output current of EDCS-220/10H, the two power systems are the same.
The power system selects one of the two AC input routes automatically to supply power to the rectifiers. The rectifiers rectify the AC power into DC power to charge the batteries, supply the switching equipment, and supply the control equipment through the voltage regulator. The PCU monitors the analog data and digital data, reports the operation data to the remote monitoring system, and outputs fault information through the dry contacts at the back of the power system. The operating principle is shown in the following figure.
Operating principle
Features
Features of EP system include the following:
Modularized design peculiar to switch mode power system and redundancy design.
Extra wide input voltage range. Applicable to various mains conditions, especially to the comparatively poor conditions.
Hot-pluggable rectifiers that can be online maintained conveniently and quickly.
The rectifiers use soft switching technology, which has high switching efficiency and low EMI.
Active load sharing technique. Typical load sharing imbalance is ±3%.
The rectifier safety design complies with CE and EMC standards. The rectifiers are safe and reliable.
Open-interface design with powerful communication functions, which can be connected to RTU devices of the transformer substation or DCS monitoring system of the power plant computers.
Automatic battery management and protection, which monitors battery operation status and parameters automatically. Coordinated with battery detector makes the detection of faults of the battery string and single batteries more convenient.
The power system has build-in insulation relay. External insulation relay and insulation detector are optional, which detects the real-time insulation status of the DC busbar flexibly and conveniently.
Composition
The EDCS-220/10H power system is equipped with ER22005/S rectifier, and the EDCS-110/20H power system is equipped with ER11010/S rectifier. The two types of rectifiers have the same appearance and interface.
The voltage regulator has two types: 220V and 110V, which models are EC22002/M and EC11004/M separately.
The power system uses PSM-E01 or PSM-E02 PCU. Except for background communication, the PSM-E02 monitoring system has the same functions as those of PSM-E01 monitoring system.
