As the extensive application of derivative products (such as high voltage DC UPS, redundancy storage battery charge device and electric vehicle charging station), the number of DC power system in general concept grows rapidly. DC power system adopts module redundancy design which is flexible in expansibility, easy to maintain and can be hot plugged. If we need to show that it is easy to be repaired, the user should have relevant spare parts reserve in order to settle the problems in time. Generally speaking, DC power system consists of following parts: Alternating current unit (including AC input, automatic switchover, C/D-level lightning protection system and AC signal detector), AC/DC rectifier module, storage battery input and power distribution units, voltage regulating unit, DC feeder distribution unit, insulation status detector, battery detector, supervision unit and contribution supervision unit (including AC contribution and DC contribution). 1. Rectifier module spare parts should strictly keep the policy of same model.
15 years has passed since high frequency switching power supply technology had been applied into DC power system field. Manufacturers have upgraded the core parts and introduced many new products. In many situations, the new version is incompatible with the old one. For example, there is only an “A” difference between HD22005-3 and HD22005-3A, while the other parameters of electrical technology are the same, even in this circumstance, they are incompatible, the hole size and installation method are different. Take HD22010-2 and HD22010-3 module of HD22010 series for another example, HD22010-3 is the upgraded products of HD22010-2. They are different in appearance, size, weight and cooling-down method.
2. Insist on purchasing spare parts from formal channels agented by the manufacturer
As a leading brand in DC power system industry, EMERSON is copied by some manufacturers. They say the products are compatible. Imitation products of EMERSON rectifier module can be found on the market with same appearance and size. But products like this cannot reach EMERSON’s products standard in terms of some core technical index and dependability. If they are mixed used with EMERSON’s products, a lot of problems on the aspects of averaged current output, voltage consistency and communication module are easily occur, which might even cause great production safety accident.
3. Spare parts rational configuration policy
To DC power system, those spare parts like rectifier module, monitor module, C-level and D-level lightning protection system are necessities. And we can choose battery defector, AC and DC voltage sampling unit and hall sensor according to real situation. As for those units with several sets of DC power system, those spare parts can be shared. 5. Maintain the faulty spare parts of DC power system in a timely manner.
Some companies are used to maintaining all the trouble units once a year. It not only requires a certain number of DC power systems in stock but also demands dynamic management of spare parts and ensures the stock. Here, it is suggested that companies who use DC power system should adopt the policy to maintain faulty component in time.
6. Communicate with supplier during the operation process of replacing DC power system spare parts.
DC power system rectifier module and monitor module have realized hot plug. But it is not enough to plug. Modules of some manufacturers demand address identification, auto and manual dial settings. Suggest reading user manual, communicating with suppliers and confirming with them in advance before changing spare parts.
